NRK journalist on constructive journalism: We can learn from each other and inspire each other
“The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) tries to impelement constructive journalism across the whole organization,” said NRK journalist Ingrid Tinmannsvik in an interview with GPB First Channel.
Today, Tinmannsvik attended a workshop by Ulrik Haagerup, founder and CEO of Constructive Institute and author of the book Constructive News, for GPB First Channel producers, editors, and journalists.
Tinmannsvik went on to say that “we are also doing the same, so we can learn from each other and inspire each other and its so great to see so many people show up.”
Asked about the need for constructive journalism, she said the demand for it was stemming from the audience.
“I saw the big demand for more hope from our audience, they were telling me personally in our comment sections that its too negative, I cant take it any more, it makes me depressed and I felt we have the responsibility as the public broadcaster to do something more for the people and give them more hope. and They really love it, they respond so well,” she stated.
