North Macedonian Assembly President: Dialogue and partnership are vital as regional cooperation fosters peace and stability
“We believe that through open dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive partnership, we can unlock the immense potential of our region and address the issues that affect us all,” stated Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, during his address at the 67th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).
He further noted that current geopolitical developments serve as a stark reminder of the vital importance of unity and resilience.
Additionally, Afrim Gashi expressed his gratitude to the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, for his leadership and work.
“First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Parliament of Georgia for their warm hospitality and for organising this important gathering. It is truly an honour to be part of this esteemed assembly and to join such a distinguished group of representatives from the Black Sea region.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the President of the Georgian Parliament for his leadership and commitment to regional cooperation. Your dedication to fostering dialogue and unity among our countries is truly commendable, and it inspires us all to work together towards common goals. As we gather here on this occasion, I am reminded of the vital importance of regional collaboration, especially within the framework of BSEC.
Our region is rich in history, culture, and potential, but it also faces numerous challenges that require our collective effort and solidarity. Whether it is economic development, security, environmental sustainability, or social cohesion, our shared future depends on the strength of our cooperation and the bonds we build today.
North Macedonia is fully committed to this cooperation. We see the Black Sea region as a vital corridor for connectivity, trade, and people-to-people contact. We believe that through open dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive partnership, we can unlock the immense potential of our region and address the issues that affect us all.
In recent years, we have seen how regional cooperation can serve as a powerful tool to promote peace and stability. The ongoing geopolitical developments remind us of the importance of unity and resilience. Our countries, despite differences, share common interests and aspirations to live in peace, prosper economically, and provide a better future for our citizens, especially the younger generations. It is also essential to emphasise the importance of inclusivity,” Afrim Gashi has stated.
