Nino Burjanadze: No one on earth, who speaks of democracy, can order us to enter rigged Parliament

The leader of United Georgia, Nino Burjanadze, says the OSCE does not directly urge the opposition to enter the parliament. She noted that “no one on earth, who speaks of democracy, can order opposition to enter rigged Parliament.”

Burjanadze states that the OSCE / ODIHR report contains election violations that should be addressed.

“I have not read such a direct call to enter parliament. The OSCE / ODIHR report directly covers the election violations that should be addressed.

After the second round of the elections and the final report, which will claim that these results can not be changed, I assure you that the OSCE / ODIHR conclusion will be even stricter,” Burjanadze said.

Earlier today, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s political and security Chair and the leaders of the OSCE’s recent election observation mission reiterated that political deadlock must be overcome in order to ensure that the voters’ will is respected.

As Special Co-ordinator and leader of the short-term OSCE election mission, Elona Gjebrea Hoxha noted, “now that this process is concluded all political parties elected should take their mandates, enter parliament, and continue their work within the institutions.”
