Nika Melia to Chair UNM

Nika Melia, a member of the opposition United National Movement, became the party’s new Chairman.

Davit Kirkitadze, a member of the UNM said the new Chairman would ensure decision-making in the party more transparently and with wider engagement. He said that the party introduced an electronic system for participation in discussions of future action plans on part of party members and supporters.

“If these people decide that National Movement should continue street protests as the only means of political struggle, it will be so, if they choose other forms of protest, they will have the opportunity to say their word though online involvement in decision-making,” Davit Kirkitadze said.
