Nika Gvaramia: I want us to greet Marco Rubio from Tbilisi to Yerevan by lighting up our phones

“I want to greet Marco Rubio from Tbilisi to Yerevan, and to greet him with our phones lit up. Next time, in Tbilisi!” declared one of the leaders of the Opposition Alliance, Nika Gvaramia, at the ongoing demonstration on Rustaveli Avenue.

According to Gvaramia, Georgia believes that all major matters should be addressed and resolved in Tbilisi, the principal city of the Black Sea region.

“Georgia deserves to welcome all our friends in Tbilisi, the capital of Transcaucasia, once called by that name, and now known as the heart of the Black Sea region. Everyone should come here, and the most important matters should be addressed and resolved in this city. It is here, in Tbilisi, that we greet Marco Rubio, the United States, the European Union, our British brothers and sisters, and everyone who loves Georgia and everyone whom we Georgians love,” declared Nika Gvaramia.

For context: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio paid a brief visit to Yerevan, where he signed the Charter of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States at the airport itself. Marco Rubio has since departed Yerevan.
