Newly appointed Italian Ambassador presents copies of credentials to FM

Massimiliano D’Antuono, the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Georgia, presented the copies of credentials to Ilia Darchiashvili, Georgian Foreign Minister, on Tuesday.

At the meeting with the Ambassador, the FM congratulated Massimiliano D’Antuono on the appointment and wished him success.

The Ambassador and FM welcomed Georgia-Italy friendly relations and prolific cooperation based on common European values and interests.

Ilia Darchiashvili thanked the Ambassador for Italy’s unwavering support for Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and EU integration aspirations.

At the meeting, the FM familiarized the Ambassador with the government’s progress and steps to be taken for the country’s EU accession.

The sides pledged readiness to further contribute to Georgia-Italy political, economic and branch cooperation.
