New Patriarch to be enthroned at Svetitskhoveli on May 12

The enthronement of the new Patriarch of Georgia is scheduled for May 12 at Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.

His Holiness Shio III, the newly elected Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, announced the date.

The decision regarding the date was made personally by the new Patriarch himself.

His Holiness Shio III was elected as the 142nd Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia during today’s expanded council of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
