Nestlé Georgia recalls certain baby food batches as a precaution due to potential risks

“The decision to recall specific batches of infant nutrition products was taken by the company as a precautionary measure, taking into account even minimal, potentially possible risks,” Giorgi Aladashvili, a representative of Nestlé Georgia LLC, has stated.

According to him, quality issues are a priority for the company.

“Nestlé Georgia is conducting a voluntary recall of limited quantities of batches of infant nutrition products NAN 1 and NAN 2. This does not affect products from other batches or other types of products. We have not received a single complaint from consumers in Georgia regarding deterioration of health as a result of using products from the specified batches.

The decision to recall the products was made by the company as a precautionary measure, in accordance with a globally adopted protocol. We promptly informed Georgia’s National Food Agency and are cooperating fully with the regulatory authorities. Ensuring quality is our top priority.

The recall was initiated considering the smallest potential risks. We commit to reimbursing consumers for products purchased from the affected batches. Consumer health and safety are of utmost importance to us,” stated Giorgi Aladashvili.

For reference, the National Food Agency yesterday stated that “specific batches of Nestlé infant nutrition products are being withdrawn from the market due to a potential risk of detecting the toxin Cereulide.”
