NEA forecasts sweltering heatwaves and violent hailstorms to hit Georgia from July 14
The National Environmental Agency (NEA) has released its forecast detailing weather conditions expected across Georgia from July 14 to 16.
According to meteorologists, the coming days will see high temperatures paired with intermittent heavy rainfall, with localised hail and strong gales predicted in some areas.
Tbilisi can expect brief thundershowers in the evening hours, accompanied by rising wind speeds. Daytime temperatures will peak between 31°C and 33°C.
Coastal areas (Batumi, Kobuleti, Anaklia, Poti): Intermittent short-lived rain and thunderstorms are forecast. Daytime temperatures will reach 27°C to 29°C.
Lowland areas of Western Georgia (Zestafoni, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Martvili, Ozurgeti): Brief rain and thunderstorms are expected periodically. Daytime temperatures will hover between 28°C and 30°C.
Mountainous areas of Western Georgia (Ambrolauri, Oni, Tsageri, Shovi, Chiatura, Sachkhere, Khulo, Rikoti Pass): Periodic short-lived rain and thunderstorms are expected. Daytime temperatures will range from 26°C to 28°C.
High-mountain regions of Western Georgia (Mestia, Bakhmaro): Intermittent rain and thunderstorms are expected. Daytime temperatures will settle between 25°C and 27°C.
Kartli (Rustavi, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Gori, Tskhinvali): Localised brief rain and thunderstorms are expected, with potential hail and strong wind gusts. Daytime temperatures will reach 32°C to 34°C.
Kakheti (Sagarejo, Telavi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Lagodekhi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, Dedoplistskaro): Localised short-lived rain and thunderstorms are expected, with a risk of hail and strong winds. Daytime temperatures will range between 32°C and 34°C.
Mountainous areas of Eastern Georgia (Akhaltsikhe, Borjomi, Dusheti, Tianeti, Pasanauri): Isolated brief rain and thunderstorms are forecast, alongside possible hail and high winds. Daytime temperatures will register at 27°C to 29°C.
High-mountain regions of Eastern Georgia (Akhalkalaki, Tsalka, Bakuriani, Gudauri, Omalo): Isolated short-lived rain and thunderstorms are predicted, with potential hail and strong gales. Daytime temperatures will range between 22°C and 24°C.
