“The total volume of monetary remittances received by Georgia in May 2026 reached USD 339.85 million (911.0 million lari), representing a year-on-year increase of 7.1%, or USD 22.4 million, compared with the same period in 2025,” the National Bank of Georgia has published the figures.

“According to statistics released today by the National Bank, the largest share of remittances in May originated from European Union member states, accounting for 43.7% of the total, equivalent to USD 148.4 million, with annual growth standing at 6.0%. Among EU countries, Italy, Germany, and Greece contributed the most significant shares of overall remittance flows.

The upward trend in remittances from the United States and Israel also continued. In May, year-on-year growth from the United States stood at 8.1%, while remittances from Israel rose by 22.7%, amounting to USD 63.9 million and USD 29.3 million, respectively.

In May 2026, outbound transfers from Georgia to abroad totalled USD 37.0 million (99.2 million lari), which is 5.1% higher than the figure recorded in May 2025 (USD 35.2 million),” the National Bank’s statement notes.
