NBG unveils silver collector coin for Bakuriani 2025

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG), as part of the European Winter Youth Olympic Festival, presented a silver collector coin dedicated to Bakuriani 2025.

The event was attended by Mamuka Khabareli, Chairman of the Bakuriani 2025 Organizing Committee; Leri Khabelov, President of the Georgian National Olympic Committee; and Spyros Capralos, President of the European Olympic Committees.

Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia, presented the silver collector coins to Spyros Capralos, Leri Khabelov, the father of Nodar Kumaritashvili—an athlete who tragically died at the 2010 Olympic Games—and the son of veteran ski jumper Koba Tsakadze.

The coin’s design was developed in collaboration with the Bakuriani 2025 Organizing Committee, and 5,000 pieces were minted at the Mint of Poland.

Notably, the National Bank of Georgia has previously issued collector coins on sports themes, including rugby, basketball, football, and the Olympic Games.
