The delegation of World Bank experts visited the National Bank of Georgia to strengthen the payment infrastructure and implement the instant payment system.
The World Bank representatives met with Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
At the concluding meeting, chaired by World Bank Program Leader Miguel Sánchez, discussions focused on ongoing payment system projects, their importance and benefits, and the future integration with other countries’ systems. The parties agreed to continue cooperation in both current and new areas. As part of the mission, World Bank experts held a series of workshops for National Bank employees to address key issues related to the implementation of the new instant payment system.
The meeting was attended by National Bank Vice President Ekaterine Galdava and representatives from various NBG departments.
During their visit, World Bank experts also met with representatives from the public and financial sectors, commercial banks, and payment service providers.
