NBG Governor: Georgia’s stable environment and peace are key factors attracting US investors

“We are expecting new investors in Georgia, and current trends confirm this — both in the real economy and the financial sector,” said Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), following a meeting with American investors as part of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in the US.

According to Turnava, the delegation met with several well-known investment funds, some of which are already active in Georgia’s capital market, purchasing treasury bonds and making investments. Others are new players exploring various global markets in search of favourable investment conditions.

Turnava emphasized that Georgia’s stable environment and peace are key factors attracting American investors.

“Importantly, they are looking for low-risk countries for their investments,” she added.

She also noted that the discussions were productive, highlighting that Georgia’s stable macroeconomic indicators and large-scale infrastructure projects offer strong profit potential while minimizing risks such as inflation or economic shocks.
