National Food Safety Agency warns population to pay attention to labelling
Giorgi Mikadze, a representative of National Food Safety Agency warns the population to pay attention to labelling during the summer season, especially with respect to meat and dairy products. He calls on the population for abstaining to buy food products sold in the streets.
“Customers are recommended to become introduced with the information about ingredients, expire dates, storage temperature and in case of violations call at hot-line 15-01 of Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture,” Mikadze said.
According to Mikadze, un-planned monitoring and inspections will be carried out. Based on results of inspections carried out during 6 months, 247 business operators were suspended activities; cases of imposed penalties are increased by 28% in comparison to the last years.
