National Food Agency launches investigation into suspected water intoxication of child
The National Food Agency has launched an investigation into a suspected case of water intoxication of a child, the agency reported.
According to the agency, water samples have been taken within the framework of state control, and laboratory test results will be made public.
“The National Food Agency received a notification about a child’s suspected intoxication from water – ‘Bakuriani Tsida’. Upon receiving this information, the National Food Agency immediately began an investigation. Agency inspectors are conducting an unplanned inspection at the water bottling facility, which covers the complete technological cycle. Simultaneously, water samples have been taken within the framework of state control, and the laboratory test results will be immediately made public,” reads the agency statement.
Additionally, IDS Borjomi company has issued a statement regarding the information spread on social media about “Bakuriani Tsida.”
“Information has spread on social media that a minor child was hospitalized after consuming liquid from a ‘Bakuriani Tsida’ bottle. The company responded immediately. Samples were checked at the specific store (where, according to our information, the product was purchased), and no violation was detected.
Simultaneously, we checked samples from all batches currently in the network and confirmed that no violations were found in these samples. The complete technological cycle of the production process was also verified, which excludes the possibility of any foreign substances entering the product,” reads the IDS Borjomi statement.
