National flag at half-mast to honour day of mourning for Saberio tragedy

The national flag was lowered to half-mast at the Georgian Government Administration building to mark the Day of Mourning.

January 9 was declared a Day of Mourning by the Government of Georgia to honour the victims of a tragic fire in Saberio village, Gali district, in occupied Abkhazia.

By Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s decree, national flags were lowered to half-mast nationwide.

The fire, which occurred on January 5 in Saberio village, claimed the lives of five children.
