National Examinations Centre issues official guidance on registration opening for national and common master’s exams
The National Assessment and Examinations Centre has released an official statement regarding the commencement of registration for the national and common master’s examinations.
“The National Assessment and Examinations Centre has opened registration for undergraduates and master’s degree candidates. Applicants may complete registration for the 2026 Unified National and Common Master’s Examinations via the Centre’s website until 18:00 on May 11.
Applicants sitting the national examinations are required to pay the fee for their chosen subjects (at least one subject) between 10:00 on April 6 and 18:00 on May 6, to finalise their registration by 18:00 on May 11. Within this same period, applicants may also pay fees for additional subjects, select or amend their examination city, and choose or update their preferred degree programmes. The fee per subject for candidates sitting the Unified National Examinations is set at ten lari, whilst the fee for participation in the Common Master’s Examination is fifty lari. Payments are processed through Bank of Georgia platforms, namely the online payment system (bogpay.ge), internet banking (ibank.ge), the mobile application (mBank), and self-service terminals.
As part of the ongoing higher education reform, applicants this year have the opportunity to select not only higher education degree programmes but also vocational education programmes. In line with these changes, educational programmes on the Centre’s registration portal are presented under three categories: ‘Bachelor’s’, ‘Vocational’, and ‘Preparatory Georgian Language’ (a one-year Georgian language preparation programme). To select a higher education programme, applicants should tick the ‘Bachelor’s’ field and choose their preferred programme. Should they wish, they may additionally select vocational programmes by ticking the ‘Vocational’ field. Ranking educational programmes in order of preference is a mandatory requirement, as priority is given during enrolment to the programme listed first in the registration application. Programmes may be selected, changed, or removed until 18:00 on the day following the publication of appeal results. The registration portal also allows applicants to track the progress of their chosen programmes in the competition. Under the reform, tuition for students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, and vocational programmes at state educational institutions will be fully funded by the government. Furthermore, the state will provide funding for priority vocational programmes at private institutions,” reads the official statement from the National Assessment and Examinations Centre.
