National Environment Agency reports decrease of solid particles concentration in ambient air
The National Environment Agency reports a decreasing trend of solid particle concentration in the ambient air.
“On December 1, from the afternoon, precipitation in the form of rain was observed in most of Western Georgia and some regions of Eastern Georgia. Along with rain, moderate westerly winds were observed in some parts of Georgia, including Tbilisi.
The Georgian National Environment Agency reported a surge in the concentration of solid particles in some regions of Georgia for the last several days.
The Agency said the increase is primarily attributed to transboundary pollution and is linked to the dispersion of desert dust masses from the south.
According to the Agency, transboundary pollution is typically recorded during specific synoptic conditions on certain days of the year. The improvement of the situation depends on meteorological processes – rain, snow, and wind.
Continuous monitoring of ambient air quality is being carried out by the National Environmental Agency, and the public is encouraged to check the state of air quality and receive health recommendations on the atmospheric air quality portal.
