National Bank of Georgia warns citizens

The National Bank of Georgia calls on citizens to trust only licensed brokerage companies while trading in the electronic currency markets.

According to the statement issued by NBG, on the basis of the amendments to the Law on Securities Market, which was entered into force on January 11, 2018, organizing the foreign currency trading platform was added to the activities of the brokerage company.

As a result of the amendment, authorization on organizing the foreign currency trade through trading platform became licensed activity and subject to regulation of the National Bank.
