NAEC issues guidance for candidates with special educational needs

The National Assessment and Examinations Centre (NAEC) has published the list of candidates who have been granted special accommodations for the upcoming 2026 examinations.

According to the NAEC, candidates can use the nine-digit identification code printed on their examination cards to check whether their request for adjustments has been approved.

“Each year, the National Assessment and Examinations Centre provides tailored testing environments for more than 300 prospective university students. To achieve this, the Centre prints exam papers in Braille and large print formats. We also implement specialised text-to-speech software, arrange physical spaces adapted to candidates’ physical needs, extend examination times, and deploy other vital support measures.

For the foreign language examination listening component, the Centre offers alternative provisions aligned with leading international examination standards. These include lip-reading support, seating arrangements near audio amplifiers, the use of headphones or personal hearing aids, and the allocation of extra time.

All candidate requests are evaluated individually by an independent panel of highly qualified medical professionals. Decisions are made strictly based on the application and supporting medical documentation submitted by the candidates,” the National Assessment and Examinations Centre stated.
