Mtskheta-Mtianeti police seize large quantities of drugs and detain individual
Following a series of operational measures and investigative actions, officers from the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested T.M., born in 1995, who has a previous conviction for the illegal purchase and storage of a significant amount of drugs, as well as facilitating their sale.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this offence is punishable by up to 20 years’ imprisonment, or life imprisonment in the most severe cases.
During a search of T.M.’s personal vehicle and the car he was driving, law enforcement officers also seized 14 packages of methadone, which the suspect had been distributing at various locations, and these packages have been taken as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4, Part 6 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, the Ministry’s statement confirms.
