MP Nikoloz Samkharadze: There is widespread consensus that Georgia plays pivotal role in European energy security

“Today, everyone agrees that Georgia has a unique role in the development of European energy security,” stated MP Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament.

“I can quote the Chairman of the Slovak Parliament, who said that Slovakia and Europe need Georgia to ensure European energy security. I believe there is no clearer message than that. Today, it is universally acknowledged that Georgia holds a vital position in strengthening European energy security,” added Samkharadze.

Richard Raši, the Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, affirmed at a joint briefing with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili that Georgia is recognised as one of the most important transport hubs in the region.
