MP Mariam Lashkhi highlights education as key focus during visit to Slovakia, emphasising value of European experience
According to MP Mariam Lashkhi, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Education Committee, the visit to Slovakia will include discussions on various topics.
She highlighted that one of the main focuses will be on education.
“The visit to Slovakia is vital for advancing parliamentary diplomacy. We will engage in various discussions, with a primary focus on education, as Slovakia recently undertook one of the most significant reforms in this sector. Sharing their experience is therefore very important. We are also in the midst of an active education reform in Georgia, and learning from a European nation’s journey is invaluable. The Slovak government has consistently shown strong, unwavering support for Georgia, whether through resolutions or opposition to sanctions,” Lashkhi stated.
For context, Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, has departed for an official visit to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The parliamentary delegation, led by the Speaker, includes Deputy Speaker Ilia Injia, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee Mariam Lashkhi, and Deputy Chair of the Georgian Dream faction Rima Beradze.
