MP Makhashvili: We will discuss all matters with PACE delegation and ask questions
“I will meet with members of the PACE delegation alongside my colleagues. This is the monitoring committee, which observes ongoing processes across the country from various angles and offers its own assessments of how well the actions of specific political actors align with the obligations undertaken before the Council of Europe,” said MP Levan Makhashvili, a member of Georgian Dream.
According to Makhashvili, they must draw a clear conclusion, particularly regarding the events of October 4. This report not only examines the government’s responsibility for these events but also considers the roles of all political actors and state institutions.
“We will review the report and assess it carefully; if it fails to clearly express their views on the events of October 4 and the responsibility of radical groups, then all other reports will, at best, appear insincere and, at worst, unfair towards us.
An objective observer should approach the situation with an open mind, free from preconceived notions or influence, as this naturally raises questions about their impartiality. We will discuss all topics of interest to them, and we will certainly raise questions of our interest. As far as I am aware, the Speaker of Parliament will also meet with them in his capacity as head of the legislative body,” added Makhashvili.
