MP Makhashvili: Saakashvili’s statements are laughable; when banks operate, no need to discuss sanctions

“Mikheil Saakashvili’s statements are already quite laughable. Such absurd remarks only serve to advance his own agenda,” said MP Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the Parliament’s European Integration Committee.

Makhashvili responded to a Facebook banner posted by former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, which bore the caption: “Sanctions on Georgian banks.”

“Imposing sanctions involves its own set of rules and procedures. When banks are conducting their activities normally, there is no need to discuss sanctions. It’s no surprise that some people are angry, upset, or unable to forgive, and that they resort to calling others traitors,” Makhashvili added.
