“I will not get ahead of events or speculate on what the future holds, but I can confidently say that relations between Georgia and America have been restored,” stated MP Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the Parliament’s European Integration Committee.

According to Makhashvili, significant strides have been made in security, economic, and educational sectors to “revive the previously frozen relations.”

“We aim to reach a point where we can confidently affirm that the relationship now meets our expectations, that is, the realisation of a strategic partnership. We hope that the developments anticipated in May will greatly contribute to this process. Significant progress has been achieved in security, the economy, and education to repair the relations left to us by the previous administration, which they had described as pending future steps. We trust that the visit or meetings scheduled for May will further this objective. There have already been visits, calls, and other contacts in April. The political will is present, and the work is ongoing. There is no need to specify a date like May 12 or May 25; the ice has been broken, and we are committed to continuing these efforts,” Makhashvili explained.
