MP Levan Makhashvili: Georgia is building relations step by step; visit to America is one of those steps
“Gradually, step by step, we will undoubtedly establish our relations on solid, equitable ground,” said MP Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the Committee on European Integration.
He emphasised that Georgia is committed to fostering strong partnerships with its allies daily.
“Today, we live in a completely new world. Georgia is actively working to develop these relations with the countries with which we envision fruitful cooperation. From the ground up, we are constructing these ties brick by brick. We see a visit to America as one of those bricks. Just as that, step by step, we will certainly build our relations on normal and fair foundations,” Makhashvili explained.
The Georgian parliamentary delegation is currently visiting Washington, D.C., representing the country in the United States. The delegation includes members of the parliamentary majority: Nikoloz Samkharadze, Mariam Lashkhi, and Lika Shartava.
During the visit, Nikoloz Samkharadze met with Brendan Hanrahan at the U.S. State Department. Following their discussions, Samkharadze stated that the meeting reaffirmed their mutual readiness to commence work on a new strategic partnership agreement.
