MP Irakli Kadagishvili: No revolution scenario can be played out
“No revolution scenario can be played out. They are gravely mistaken if they believe that provoking unrest will help them achieve their goals,” stated Irakli Kadagishvili, Chair of the Parliamentary Self-Government Committee, in response to UNM’s Ani Tsitlidze, regarding the planned rally on October 4.
Kadagishvili emphasised the importance of avoiding provocation.
“Once again, I want to warn those involved, especially young people, against becoming entangled in provocation. When they appear before the law, it will be too late to weep on Facebook. No one should get involved in provocations. As for the rally and peaceful demonstration, everyone in Georgia has the right to express their views. But how ethical is it to constantly shout about staging a coup and overthrowing the government? Be cautious, respect the law, or else the law will respond. And then, a Facebook post or a foreign statement of outrage will not change anything. Those abroad must also realise that they are not the only nations or countries. Georgia is a sovereign country and a proud nation, home to a constitution, its people, and its elections. Everyone must respect this, both within and beyond our borders,” Kadagishvili stated.
