MP Giorgi Chakvetadze vows to remain keen supporter of GD's youth organization
“The Georgian Dream and its youth organization is an idea, which each of us served, serve and will serve in the future,” said MP Giorgi Chakvetadze, addressing the GD youth organization’s congress.
Chakveradze extended gratitude to the invited audience, GD Chair, Prime Minister, GD’s General Secretary, Parliament Speaker and Political Council members.
He recalled the date, June 26, 2016, when he was elected Chairman of the GD’s youth organization and summed up the decade-long activities under his chairmanship.
Giorgi Chakvetadze remarked that the largest youth organization had over 10 thousand members and listed local and international partner organizations.
“Year after year, many young people join. The voice of the new generation is heard in every region and municipality – in the city assemblies and parliament,” he said.
Giorgi Chakvetadze noted that the organization implemented different projects, but emphasized three key projects:
“Youth Week associated with the Presidency of the Council of Europe; Volunteer for the StopCOVID-19 Youth Platform and the youth campaign held at each election since 2020. The legislative and government initiatives that have improved the daily lives of our peers are of utmost importance and I would draw your attention to three of them: Youth policy in municipalities, internship program at public institutions, and higher education reform, through which studying at state universities will be free of charge and the quality of education will be improved. Whether it was a disaster or a celebration, we stood with you wherever our homeland and young people needed us,” he stated and reconfirmed that he would remain “a keen supporter of the youth organization” and would continue supporting young people from the parliament floor.
“The past ten years have taught me that with determination, any goal can be achieved,” he concluded and wished success to the youth organization’s new chair and Gamgeoba (administration).
Varlam Liparteliani has been elected as the new chair of the Georgian Dream’s Youth Organization, replacing Giorgi Chakvetadze, who chaired the organization from 2016.
