MP Davit Matikashvili: Saakashvili knows that strong church is Georgia’s shield against foreign interference
“The distinguished leader of the fifth column, Saakashvili, is well aware that as long as the Church remains strong and spiritual values are upheld, foreign powers stand little chance of interfering in Georgia’s internal affairs or turning it into a proxy state,” stated MP Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Procedural Issues Committee of the Georgian Parliament.
He expressed regret that this individual once served as the president of our country.
“Saakashvili understands perfectly that a robust Church and the high regard for spiritual values serve as Georgia’s defence against foreign influence. Throughout his activities, he was consistently marked by anti-Georgian and anti-church actions. Even today, he refuses to abandon these tactics, falsely framing the process as Russian and questioning its legitimacy, all for unfounded and fabricated reasons. This is his true character. His recent statements are yet another clear indication of what it means to be an agent of a foreign power. It is a sad reality that this person once held the highest office in Georgia,” said Davit Matikashvili.
