MP Davit Matikashvili: Collective UNM is doomed to sink in a political quagmire; weighed down by sins and crimes, nothing can save them
“The foreign-agent opposition is offering the public nothing more than a cheap soap opera, and the collective United National Movement (UNM) is doomed to sink entirely into a political quagmire,” declared MP Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules.
Matikashvili claimed that opposition leaders are increasingly exposing their anti-Georgian and unpatriotic true nature.
“The more frantically they thrash about, the faster they accelerate their own demise. That frantic thrashing is precisely what we are witnessing today. These individuals are exposing their anti-Georgian, rootless nature ever more clearly. Most of the allegations being traded among them are, in all likelihood, entirely true.
Weighed down by their sins and crimes, nothing can save these orthodox UNMists. They are trying to rehabilitate their standing by dredging up accusations against one another, but the United National Movement commands zero public trust, a reality that will be starkly reflected in any election outcome.
This is an agent-driven sect that has trampled the voters’ mandate underfoot. Should they participate in elections, it would be no surprise if the public rejected them once again. These political parties have been reduced to absolute zero,” Matikashvili stated.
