MP Botchorishvili assesses EU member states' political outlook towards Georgia as positive

Maka Botchorishvili, the European Integration Committee chair, stated that the political mindset among EU member states is positive, and the consensus regarding Georgia should not be in danger.

She emphasized that the recommendation of the European Commission is a crucial basis for a positive decision by the European Council.

“While the issue is complex, involving different countries and an enlargement package, we remain hopeful that member states will reach a consensus on this matter. In general, any issue considered by the Council of the European Union necessitates the determination of positions by EU member states and subsequent consensus-building. This is not a unique issue marked by exceptional difficulties. I anticipate that, as in other cases, EU member states will reach a consensus in this case as well,” Botchorishvili says.
