MP Archil Gorduladze: Figures within the EU are deliberately dismantling its foundations and acting against European interests
“If we are to believe Marta Kos, every member state of the European Union must be severing relations with the United States; for what other logic could justify forbidding candidate countries from engaging with the current US administration while EU member states themselves maintain those very ties?” asked MP Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Issues.
Gorduladze was commenting on statements made by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who asserted that “countries seeking EU accession must sever ties with Donald Trump’s MAGA movement to qualify for membership.”
According to Gorduladze, such rhetoric clearly demonstrates a fundamental lack of respect for the other nations’ sovereignty.
“The European bureaucracy is effectively signalling that candidate states will have no voice once inside the bloc. Even before securing membership, preconditions are imposed demanding that they forfeit an independent foreign policy. This further validates the current US administration’s assessment that, regrettably, the European Union stands on the brink of a civilisational precipice.
Unfortunately, individuals within the EU are actively undermining its foundational principles and acting directly against European interests. This serves the agendas of forces seeking to weaken sovereign states to expand their own dominion over them. Whether it is Kos or Kallas, they act as conduits for these interests. It is precisely through this lens that we must view the ongoing attacks against our country, which stands firmly against disinformation,” Gorduladze stated.
