Movement of trains will be presumably restored from June 15 – Georgian Railway told Georgian First Channel. The company is ready to take into consideration the recommendations of Health Ministry to ensure security of passengers.

Georgian Railway has outlined the special regulations and instructions including carrying out of thermal screening at entrances, disinfection of hands and social distancing guidelines. Passengers will not be allowed on board of the trains without medical facemasks.

According to Nika Kacharava, Head of Medical Service of Georgian Railway, special services checked the ventilation systems and concluded that their use in train carriages is safe.

“Ventilation systems get the air from outdoors and the air undergoes filtration, all microbes and bacteria are destroyed through ultraviolet rays,” Kacharava said. Georgian Railway also reports that travel fare will not increase.
