Ministry of Defense prepared a new concept of the reserve system

The Ministry of Defense of Georgia has prepared a new concept of military reserve system. The Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili spoke about this issue at today’s sitting of the government.

As the Prime Minister noted, the new concept provides involvement of Georgian citizens in total defense and optimal use of resources.

“The latest history has shown that the reserve system needs serious transformation. Powerful reserve system is very important for our country.

The new concept envisages involvement of Georgian citizens in total defense, as well as optimal use of mobilization resources. It is important to note that, along with the mobilization reserve, the concept provides for three different types of active reserve: voluntary, contracted and paid. This system allows Georgian citizens to find their place in this system so that they will not have to stop their civil activities and this is important”, Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.

The Prime Minister thanked the Defense Ministry and its head Levan Izoria for their efforts.
