Minister of Internal Affairs: MIA opens tourist season in Adjara fully ready
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) held an official opening activity of the summer tourist season in the seaside Adjara region.
Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili and Chairman of the Adjara Autonomous Republic Government, Zurab Pataradze, delivered welcoming speeches.
According to Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the MIA opens the tourist season fully ready.
“Additional police and rescue forces have already been mobilized to maintain public safety and order in the region. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is meeting the current tourist season with updated technical facilities and modern equipment, which will allow us to ensure public safety at the highest standard. Millions of visitors arrive in Adjara during the summer season. Therefore, public safety is a top priority,” he said.
The Minister extended gratitude to the MIA employees.
“It is their high professionalism and responsibility that ensures that our country, Georgia, remains as a leading, safe and attractive tourist destination on the world map,” he said.
Representatives of local government and different institutions attended the event. The MIA showcased up-to-date technical facilities and equipment as part of the event.
