Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze met parents of children diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Following the meeting, the parents said that the Ministry of Health continues communication on the purchase of medicines.
“They communicate with the relevant companies on a daily basis to receive the medicines as quickly as possible, in the shortest possible time. Accordingly, this procedure continues. This procedure continues, and the ministry, state representatives and ambassadors are involved to speed up the procedure,” said Zakro Gvishiani, a parent.
Another parent, Kakha Tsikarishvili, said that the Ministry intended to use different channels to accelerate the negotiations process.
“We identified certain problems that patients are facing today on the multidisciplinary team. They said that we should discuss these problems together, make a list of the problems, and the Ministry would discuss with us which problems could be solved and in what timeframe,” Tsikarishvili said.
