“Our government continues to prioritise the expansion of hydropower, whilst simultaneously accelerating investments in wind and solar energy through a transparent and investor-friendly regulatory framework,” stated Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, during her address at the 12th Ministerial Meeting held under the framework of the Agreement on a Strategic Partnership in the Field of Green Energy Development and Transmission.

The Minister explained that the Georgian government’s objective is to significantly boost domestic renewable electricity production, fortify energy security, and create additional opportunities to supply clean electricity to regional energy markets.

“We firmly believe that the Green Energy Corridor lays a solid foundation for deeper regional cooperation, interconnectivity, and greater resilience across our energy systems. It also reflects our shared commitment to building a more sustainable and secure energy future.

Georgia stands ready to continue its close cooperation with all partner nations and stakeholders to drive this vital initiative forward and to deliver on the commitments outlined in our four-way agreement fully,” Mariam Kvrivishvili emphasised during her speech.
