Minister of Economy: Construction of Anaklia Port in active phase, our declared policy is to receive first ship in 2029

“Construction of Anaklia Port, implemented by the Georgian government, is in the active phase,” said Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili.

According to the Minister, deepening works and arrangement of breakwater infrastructure are in progress, and the port will receive the first ship in 2029.

“Our declared policy is to receive the first ship in Anaklia Deep Sea Port in 2029. It is crucial to continue the development of our transport and logistics infrastructure, be it port, railway or road infrastructure, for Georgia to be able to provide its partner countries with the infrastructure and services as required for the important ring of the chain that ensures its connectivity function between Asia and Europe,” she said.
