A middle-aged woman diagnosed with coronavirus today is from Marneuli district of Kvemo Kartli region.
The patient was admitted to the Geo Hospital Clinic in Marneuli four days ago with double pneumonia.
Eter Laperadze, head of the Marneuli Municipality Center for Disease Control and Public Health, confirmed the fact in a telephone conversation with the Georgian First Channel.
This case is probably not related to border crossing; the women had contact with a sister who came from Azerbaijan.
Epidemiologists are expected to study the patient’s contacts in Marneuli.
There are currently 54 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia.
