Michael Pompeo reiterates support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty
Michael Richard Pompeo, United States Secretary of State held a telephone conversation with Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili in connection with the 10th anniversary of August 2008 Georgia-Russia war.
Press Service of Georgian Presidential Administration reports that Pompeo reiterated strong support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
United States Secretary of State underlined that the US would never reconcile with occupation of Georgia’s territories and would help Georgia in coping with those challenges that still exist on part of Russia 10 years after the military intervention.
Pompeo also said that the US supports Georgia’s peace initiatives and efforts targeted at peaceful resolution of conflict.
Georgian President thanked Michael Pompeo for support. The telephone conversation was held at the initiative of United States Secretary of State.
