MIA warns of appropriate measures: Any upcoming gatherings could be linked to yesterday’s overthrow attempt
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that it will take appropriate measures today and in the coming days to identify violators and enforce the law.
“As is publicly known, a gathering was held yesterday, the stated goal of which was to overthrow the government. The gathering quickly escalated into unlawful activity, prompting the Ministry of Internal Affairs to take proportionate measures in line with the highest legal standards to uphold the law.
The Ministry will continue to take necessary actions in the coming days to identify those responsible and ensure accountability. Based on yesterday’s events, we have reason to believe that any gatherings held today or in the near future may be a continuation of these attempts. We will act accordingly to prevent any threats to public order and security.
We urge everyone to take this into account and refrain from actions that could result in legal consequences,” the Ministry’s statement said.
