MIA solves Marneuli murder case, arrests one individual

Officers of the Kvemo Kartli Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and Turkiye’s Artvin Province Departments, through joint investigation activities, arrested one individual, born in 2002, on the territory of border sector Kartsakhi on charges of premeditated murder and unlawful purchase and keeping of firearms.

The investigation determined that the charged individual shot and wounded a father and a son in a jewelry store in Marneuli and fled the scene. The wounded men were taken to the local clinic, where one of them died from fatal injuries.

Law enforcers identified the suspect and launched an investigation under Articles 19-109 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The arrested individual faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked the Turkish colleagues for cooperation.
