“The Public Emergency Management Service 112 received many reports regarding the landslide at the Sunset Shovi Hotel in the Shovi Resort. All relevant agencies are alerted, appropriate equipment has already been mobilized to the site, and additional machinery is being added,” reads the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) statement.

“Rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service and representatives of other police units are heading in the direction of the accident with two helicopters of the Border Police. At this stage, there is no available information regarding the casualties. The Ministry will update the public with additional information gradually,” it said.

A landslide hit near Sunset Shovi Hotel in Shovi resort of the Oni Municipality, Racha Regional Governor Papuna Margvelidze reported earlier this afternoon.
