MEP Michael Gahler: Demonstration of political aggression to be provocation
Members of the United National Movement (UNM) party and the Georgian Dream should reach an agreement. UNM Chair Nika Melia has to be released from prison under the condition that he will wear an electronic bracelet, said Michael Gahler, Foreign Policy Spokesman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament.
In live air of TV Pirveli, the MEP said that the cases of Nika Melia and Giorgi Rurua, one of the founders and shareholders of Mtavari Arkhi TV should be separated.
“Rurua is convicted and he may be pardoned. Melia provoked the ruling team by an attempt to storm the parliament building, demonstrating political aggression, removing the bracelet publicly and by repeating that he would not be arrested,” Gahler claimed. The MEP Added that both parties have to compromise.
