Lelo party: Repulsive messages from government contradict negotiations spirit

Saba Buadze, a member of Lelo for Georgia Party, said that repulsive messages on the part of the Georgian Dream Party contradict the spirit of ongoing negotiations between the ruling party and opposition and complicate the current tense political situation.

According to Buadze, the next round of talks is likely to take place on December 10. However, there is no progress in the negotiations.

“In response to the opposition’s firm stance, we hear hand-twisting rhetoric from the Georgian Dream. First, they initiated trials of politicians and intensified political persecution. When it did not work, they try to change the rule of financing to threaten the oppositional politicians and force them to enter the parliament,” Buadze said.

The member of the Lelo Party claimed that the ruling party would contribute to the further marginalization by intimidation. “It is yet another series of delusional disorder,” Buadze said.

Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream, said that if a political party refuses to engage in the parliamentary work, it will lose budgetary financing.
