Parliamentary majority and opposition to hold meeting over electoral reform
A meeting between the majority and the parliamentary opposition over the electoral reform is underway in the parliament.
Participants of the meeting should share their proposals regarding the election legislation with each other. The agreed document will be submitted to the Venice Commission, an advisory board of the Council of Europe.
The parties hope that their positions will draw closer, but the chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee Anri Okhanashvili does not rule out holding of an additional meeting.
This is the second meeting between the majority and the opposition regarding the electoral reform. The first meeting took place in Kachreti, Kakheti region, three days ago.
