Mayor Kaladze denies claims that Rike Tubes’ owner asked City Hall to rezone recreational area
“It’s a lie. No such project has come to City Hall from the company that owns Rike Tubes,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told the media. He was responding to lawyer Irakli Abesadze’s claim that the company had approached City Hall asking to change the site’s recreational zoning.
The mayor stated that planning permission will be granted only if the proposed project complies with the city’s urban development guidelines.
“You are deceiving your supporters. Nothing will be hidden. We will issue a building permit once a specific project is submitted that aligns with the city’s urban development strategy. Until then, stop spreading false information; it will only hurt you. This is a lie being used for a one-day PR campaign. They make things up, wind each other up on social media and then fizzle out themselves,” Kaladze said.
