Mayor Kaladze criticises German Ambassador's conduct, says he crossed diplomatic boundaries

“It may be somewhat offensive for representatives and embassies of other countries to refer to Peter Fischer [German Ambassador to Georgia] as an ambassador; he has crossed all diplomatic boundaries and red lines,” said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

Kaladze commented on the statement made by the German Ambassador on his X social media, in which Peter Fischer stated: “Good talk with German Minister of State for Europe, Gunther Krichbaum. Big concern about the direction of Georgia. Full support of the German government for me as ambassador.”

According to Kaladze, Fischer is actively involved in encouraging public confrontation within Georgia and inciting extremism.

“As for the German ambassador, it may be a little offensive for representatives and embassies of other countries to call this person an ambassador. He is not an ambassador. Fischer has crossed all diplomatic boundaries and red lines. He is often involved in domestic political issues, encouraging public confrontation and inciting extremism to divide society.

It is deeply troubling when a representative of another country interferes in Georgia’s internal political affairs. Let us also recall the parliamentary elections, the statements made, and the calls issued; they were clearly involved in the election campaign. The Georgian people responded appropriately to these so-called diplomats who harbour hostility towards Georgians; they defeated them at the polls,” Kaladze concluded.
