Georgian  prominent Academician  Marika Lortkipanidze died at the age of 95. The family has confirmed the information.

Marika Lortkipanidze was born on August 28, 1922 in Batumi. In 1943 she graduated from the Faculty of History at Tbilisi State University. Since 1947 she worked as scholar at  Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnography. Since 1948 she worked at Tbilisi State University. Marika Lortkipanidze was Academician of Georgian Academy of Sciences since 1993.

She published 100 scientific researches, including 10 books.
